The person who built it
I grew up in a small village in Maharashtra in a family that worked hard for every rupee. We had land, gold saved over decades, a few fixed deposits. But nobody knew the full picture. My mother did not know what the FDs earned. My father did not know the land's worth. My parents had no idea what their combined net worth was — not because they were careless, but because no tool existed for them. That knowledge gap is a wealth gap. And wealth gaps compound across generations.
A few years ago my father had an FD mature quietly — auto-renewed at a lower rate because nobody caught it. ₹12 lakhs, five years, compounding at 1% less than what was available. That's real money lost to ignorance, not bad luck. I was building software products at that time. I thought: the data exists, the intelligence exists, the AI exists. What was missing was a product designed for Indian families, not individual traders.
Virasat is built by one person in Bangalore — no VC funding, no large team, no growth hacking. Just deep conviction that this matters. Virasat (विरासत) means legacy, inheritance, heritage. I chose this name because wealth is not just money. It is knowledge. It is security. It is the confidence to make good decisions for the people who depend on you. That is what this platform is built to give every Indian family.
